Over 19,000 invested in property in Dubai

The number of new property owners registered with the Dubai Land and Property Department reached 19,012 in the first half of this year.

The data showed an increase in the number of investors caused by the attractiveness of the property markets and investment opportunities provided by Dubai, as well as the increasing role of long-term investors in the property market.

Ferrari and Microsoft rely on Dubai

The world’s largest Ferrari Store was officially inaugurated in Dubai, offering more than 1,000 square metres devoted to the Prancing Horse. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by Ferrari drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Microsoft chose Dubai for hosting the world preview of Windows 7, where the new operating system has been sold a week ahead of the rest of the world.

Piling works have started in My Tower

On October 25, 2009 Dubai Municipality issued the piling works permit for My Tower project.

216 piles of different sizes are being build with diameters ranging from 80 to 100 cm and lengths varying from 10 to 13.5 meters depending on the load of the over-structure and the bearing capacity of the soil. The installation of the piles will complete the foundation works of the building.
